Support group emphasizes memories to overcome loss

A new grief support group emphasizes the importance of memories in overcoming the loss of a loved one.
The support group is provided by the Center for Hope and encourages people to use items such as pictures, and even food, to help them deal with grief.
Psychologist Deirdre Lewin helps run the support group. She says the group often holds memory meals where members of the group bring in food that reminds them of the person they lost.
Participant Allison Hilinski, who is coping with the loss of her mother, says the group has helped her go on with her life.
The group meets once a month and is free for those who register.
