SUV flips over in Bridgeport sending man to hospital

Bridgeport police are investigating an accident that sent a man to the hospital Saturday morning.

Witnesses said a man was driving northbound on East Main Street when he failed to make a curve in the road. They say his SUV then flipped over several times at the intersection of East Main and Evers streets.

Police took pictures and investigated the accident to determine what happened. Mayor John Fabrizi was at the scene and said police will determine if speeding was a cause.

Neighbors said drivers speed through the area all the time and accidents are often the result. Fabrizi said he plans to do something about it. He said putting up traffic signs in the area warning drivers to slow down might be the first step.
