Norwalk residents celebrate Revolutionary War vet
Residents celebrated the Fourth of July by honoring a Revolutionary War veteran buried at St. Paul's On the Green Episcopal Church in Norwalk.
The church spent the last three years restoring its graveyard, which contains the graves of 24 Revolutionary War soldiers. Dozens of people came to see the tomb of a Norwalk Revolutionary War veteran, Captain Benjamin Isaacs, Wednesday.
The celebration, part of the town?s ?Let Freedom Ring? program, included a historical tour focusing on Norwalk?s Revolutionary War patriots. Some people chose to dress the part, attending the event in traditional Colonial clothing.
The celebration is a great way to remind residents of what an important role Norwalk played during the American Revolution, attendees said.
