Wrestler's murder-suicide prompts steroid concerns
With investigators trying to figure out if steroids prompted professional wrestler Chris Benoit to kill his wife and son before killing himself, many are concerned about the side effects of such substances.
Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home. According to experts, anabolic steroids are basically testosterone injections or pills.
New Canaan-based neuropsychiatrist Doctor Jory Goodman said it appears Benoit was using anabolic steroids. ?I've seen pictures of him. You can't be like that without them. It's not humanly possible to develop like that without taking more hormones than your body produces,? Goodman said.
Goodman said ?roid rage? is real. He said excessive testosterone causes aggression, rage and potential psychosis.
