Police say they busted an illegal Mexican immigrant operating a sex ring Wednesday that catered to day laborers.
Police say it was run out of an apartment building on West Main Street they had been watching for a week. They say they received phone calls from residents about strange men coming out of the building at odd hours of the night.
Police found a large quantity of condoms, approximately $3,000 in cash and cards advertising the business phone numbers to call.
?It was a low frill high quantity type of operation. Sexual favors were sold for $30 a piece,? Capt. Richard Conklin said.
Hispanic men in groups of two or four would come and park their cars along the street next to the building, police say. The men would wait on a corner, and as two men came out another two would go in.
The operator of the ring and one of the alleged prostitutes are being held on $100,000 bail. They're due back in court July 3 and are both facing deportation.
