Not guilty plea in Fairfield jewelry store murders

The accused killer of two Fairfield jewelry shop owners entered a not guilty plea Thursday. Chris DiMeo is accused of murdering Tim and Kim Donnelly inside their store in February 2005. After entering his plea, DiMeo waived his right to a probable cause hearing. That hearing would have given the judge the opportunity to hear evidence and then determine if there was reason to move forward with the case. Now, the case will move forward with various pre-trial hearings and motions.DiMeo is already serving a life sentence for killing a Long Island, NY jewelry storeowner. DiMeo's next court appearance is scheduled for July 18th. Prosecutors announced they will seek the death penalty in the case.
