Rats take residency in Bridgeport back yards
Beechwood Avenue residents in Bridgeport are upset over an influx of rats into the area and say the health department isn?t doing much to help.The residents say the city has not been helpful in their efforts to get rid of the rodents. They say health department officials told them that the city is not responsible for rat extermination. Residents say they were told to acquire their own traps or hire an exterminator.That answer didn?t sit well with the people of Beechwood Avenue. Some in the community fear pets may be accidentally injured if traps are set on lawns. They also say hiring exterminators for a project like this would be too expensive.Beechwood Avenue homeowners say the rats? immigration began a few months ago. One man says he sees at least two or three of them on his property per day.
