Stratford Town Council debates $171M budget

The Stratford Town Council met Tuesday night and debated Mayor Jim Miron's proposed budget.

Miron called for a $171 million spending plan that would raise property taxes by an average of $371 per household.

The town charter states that the budget must be passed by the majority of the council, which some considered difficult Tuesday night. One councilman was absent and the remaining members were split down party lines.
