Connecticut volunteers pitched in to help repair homes Saturday in celebration of AmeriCares HomeFront Day.
Teams helped fix up 70 homes around the state for the charity?s effort to offer free repairs to low-income homeowners. Volunteers participated in a variety of projects including repairing walls, landscaping and building patios. All the materials were donated. Appliances such as dishwashers and refrigerators were also donated to the homeowners. Homeowners that received the free repairs during the one-day annual event were selected based on need.
