New Canaan parents alerted of child abduction attempt

New Canaan police and school district officials issued a warning to students and parents after a man possibly attempted to abduct a Saxe Middle School student Friday morning.

Police say a man in a Jeep approached a seventh-grade boy at his bus stop and asked the boy to get in the car. The school bus pulled up and the boy got on board.

A similar incident occurred in New Canaan less than a week ago, and parents are worried. Police say the two incidents are not related.

Police also say they hope parents remind their children never to approach a stranger?s vehicle or walk alone.
