Bridgeport man killed in late-night house fire

A Bridgeport neighborhood is in shock after a late-night fire killed a man.

The fire broke out around 11:30 on Gregory Street. A passerby noticed flames and called 911. When firefighters arrived, they found 42-year-old Darrin Bouffard and his dog dead on the third floor.

One neighbor called Bouffard a really good guy with a really good heart. Another said she'd have him over for dinner, and he'd give her daughter a ride to the train station if needed.

Investigators say they're still trying to figure out what sparked the fire.
