Westport Fire Station preps for forecasted nor'easter
Concerns over flooding have communities across southwestern Connecticut preparing for Sunday's forecasted nor'easter.
Members of the Westport Fire Station are getting ready for possible emergency situations. Chainsaws are out in case any trees come down on the roads. Generators are available for alternate power, which crew members may need to power a water pump. The department also has row boats and water boats on hand. If needed, crew members will wear special suits designed to protect against cold water exposure and provide buoyancy in the event that one member falls in the water during a rescue.
