Police probe vandalism at Greenwich boatyard
Police are investigating recent vandalism at a Greenwich boatyard that could be linked with other recent crimes.
Employees at J Catalano and Sons boatyard, located on South Water Street, say they discovered Saturday that 10 windows were smashed at the storage building. Then on Sunday, graffiti was discovered on the same building.
About one month ago, Greenwich police were investigating a rash of graffiti in different areas of town. The graffiti mimicked gang symbols. One local business owner says he heard the crimes were part of a town rivalry.
When News 12 Connecticut spoke with them about last month's graffiti, they said there were no gangs in the area, simply kids mimicking gang symbols. Police say they have identified some of the individuals responsible for the vandalism and hope to make arrests soon.
