Fabrizi battles with radio duo over Bridgeport's rep

(03/09/07) BRIDGEPORT ? Bridgeport Mayor John Fabrizi called in to a popular radio sports show earlier this week after callers started bashing his city and its arena.

Listeners called in to the ?Mike and the Mad Dog? show to complain about the Arena at Harbor Yard, site of the college hoops MAAC Tournament. Callers also complained about safety in the city. After hearing the comments, Fabrizi called in to the show and touted many positive aspects of his city. He told the hosts Bridgeport not only has many attractions, but it is a safe place for people to visit.

Show co-host Christopher ?Mad Dog? Russo is a New Canaan resident. When asked about the callers? comments, he said he?s been to several events in the city and has ?no problem with Bridgeport.?
