Father accused of using toddler to help stab mother in Bridgeport

A Bridgeport man is accused of trying to disfigure his wife with a knife before handing the weapon to their toddler to do the same.
Police say Fermin Rodriguez, 21, took his wife's cell phone and refused to let her leave their Maple Street apartment Sunday. Authorities claim Rodriguez was in a jealous rage. The victim, 17-year-old Keychia Rodriguez, says her husband held the knife to her throat and cut her hair before stabbing her in the chest, face, arms and legs. Police say Fermin then handed the knife to their 2-year-old daughter and told him to "stab mommy."
The victim's father later found his daughter stabbed in the apartment and took her to the hospital. She was treated and later released. Fermin Rodriguez faces charges of assault and reckless endangerment.
