Greenwich church puts scandal behind it, welcomes new pastor
After a financial scandal nearly forced a Greenwich church to close, parishioners say with new leadership, they're ready to stand strong. St. Michael the Archangel Church welcomed its new pastor, Monsignor Peter Cullen. A financial scandal rocked the church last month. Its former pastor, Father Michael Moynihan, was forced to resign after an audit found accounts he allegedly opened but failed to note in church records. Monsignor Peter Cullen, originally of Greenwich, has been a priest for 40 years. He was recently appointed by the bishop to take over the church. While some parishioners say they are a little bit apprehensive about the change, others say they're glad to put the scandal behind them.
