Armed, dangerous thieves on the loose in Trumbull
Police in Trumbull are searching for three men they say stole an ATM machine and led them on a high-speed chase Tuesday morning.
Police say the men attempted to steal an ATM machine from a Target store on Hawley Lane. Police say when they chased the suspects after the theft, the men caused a crash heading the wrong way on the Merritt Parkway. The men, who police consider armed and dangerous, were able to escape after the chase.
Police searched for the suspects near the Trumbull Mall and French Town Elementary School. The school locked down the building during the search. Police were able to recover the ATM machine and two stolen vehicles. The men, when caught, will face a number of charges, including larceny and robbery.
