Governor Rell defends budget, says children most important asset
Governor Jodi Rell (R-CT) explained Thursday why she's asking taxpayers to side with her on a proposed increase in the income tax. Rell says the state?s most important asset is children and she's willing to take a risk to protect them. Her budget includes a five-year, $3.4 billion education initiative that reworks how state money is divided among municipalities. Rell says she wants people to know that she is making and keeping a commitment to education.
