Ex-music director at Greenwich church pleads guilty to possessing child porn
The former music director of a Greenwich church has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.
Robert Tate, 64, of Greenwich, entered the plea Monday in Bridgeport federal court. He was the longtime music director of Christ Church. Prosecutors say Tate had digital images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Many members of the church are shocked about Tate?s guilty plea. Tate will be sentenced April 12 and faces up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000. Meanwhile, Tate was released on $500,000 bond to travel to a center in Pennsylvania that specializes in treating sex offenders.
