Walk-in center at Milford Hospital aims to speed up non-emergency care

Milford Hospital opened the doors to its new walk-in center Monday, giving patients seeking care a new option.
The hospital's ER has about 32,000 visits per year, about half of which are urgent but non-emergency cases. The goal of the walk-in center is to help ease the caseload at the hospital and treat people faster.
The walk-in center is fully staffed with doctors, nurses and an X-ray tech. Staff members can do blood work, treat respiratory infections, coughs, colds and sprains. The center is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekend.
