Family and friends grieve loss of young teen in Stratford

Family and friends are grieving Saturday after an accident on the Merritt Parkway claimed the a young Stratford girl.Police say 17-year-old Kevonna Edwards died when the vehicle she was a passenger in lost control and struck a tree on the parkway Friday. Edwards was one of five people in the car but was the only fatality. She was pronounced dead on the scene as the result of injuries. The other passengers sustained serious injuries.Edwards worked at Southend Community Center in Stratford. She attended Bunnell High School and was to graduate in June. Her younger sister says Kevonna will be remembered as the kind of girl other people aspire to be.
