Groundskeeper crushed by 10,000 pounds of dirt in Greenwich

Officials are investigating the cause of a trench collapse at a Greenwich golf course that killed one worker.Jose Medina was working on a trench when it collapsed, crushing him with 10,000 pounds of dirt. When emergency services arrived at the seventh hole of the golf course at Tamarack Country Club, Medina had been pulled from the trench unconscious. Medina later died from his injuries.Medina, 59, had been a groundskeeper at the club for almost 31 years. His co-workers remember him as a great worker and an even better person. Medina, of White Plains, leaves behind two children and two grandchildren.
