The new location for the Westport Weston Family Y is still being ?worked out.?

The Y wants to leave its current location in downtown Westport and build a new facility near the Merritt Parkway. However, Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff reportedly isn't convinced that the Y should move out of the downtown area. Joseloff is quoted by the Westport Minuteman Newspaper as saying "Jessup Green is still in play and could represent a solution for the Family Y.?

The Y has already sold its current facility and plans to move out in three to five years. The facility's director says the Y would like to build the new facility on a piece of property known as Camp Mahackeno.

Meantime, the Y is still in the process of getting all the proper approvals from the town. The proposal currently sits before the Westport Conservation Committee.
