Stamford High School thrown into chaos after box cutter attack

A 16-year-old boy allegedly used a box cutter to slash a fellow student at Stamford High School shortly before dismissal Thursday.The injured student sustained cuts on the chin and chest and was treated at a local hospital. Police say the attack started in a bathroom, as a fight between the two boys. According to police, the dispute quickly escalated when the weapon was drawn. The boy who slashed the other teen fled the scene, leaving the box cutter behind. He later turned himself in at Stamford Police Headquarters. His name has not yet been released.Stamford High School?s principal posted a statement on the school?s Web site assuring students the school is safe and well managed. The principal adds the staff is committed to maintaining such an environment.
