Traffic halted on I-95 after accident closes roadway in Bridgeport
Traffic on I-95 came to a grinding halt Tuesday after two vehicles collided in Bridgeport. The accident happened on the northbound side of the Connecticut Turnpike at Exit 28 around 4:30 p.m. Police say the driver of a white Acura Integra was driving at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic, which caused a tractor-trailer to slam into the divider. Fuel spilt across the entire northbound highway and the road was closed for more than three hours. Though the vehicles were significantly damaged, police say the occupants of the Acura were not injured. The tractor-trailer driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
