Greenwich police officer says he is unfairly targeted in parking probe
A Greenwich police officer says he feels singled out about what he calls unfair parking restrictions for officers.
The Greenwich Police Department closed down the parking lot behind police headquarters in September. Since then, the department has restricted officers from parking in metered spaces during the day and evening shifts.
Lt. Mark Kordick says he admits to parking his car in a metered spot, but he says he learned that an officer had taken pictures of his car in the unauthorized space. Kordick says he later learned he was under investigation. He adds that the department had violated rules regarding launching an investigation.
The Greenwich police chief declined to comment, stating it is a personnel matter.
