Alumni return to Fairfield to reignite old rivalry

The Fairfield Warde Mustangs and the Fairfield Ludlowe Falcons reignited an old rivalry Thursday with the first Thanksgiving Day game in 25 years.
The Mustangs hosted the forgotten classic at their Melville Avenue field on the 50th anniversary of the opening of Fairfield Warde High School, formerly Andrew Warde High School. Class of 1984 graduate Pete Christie says he wouldn't have missed it for the world. Despite the bad weather, Christie says seeing former classmates while watching the game made the day truly special.
Included in the halftime celebrations was the renaming of the field in honor of former coaches Fern Tetreau and his successor Bill Davis, who passed away earlier this year.
