A return to tolls could be just around the bend for Connecticut driversPosted: Updated:
A hearing in Hartford Monday looked to help develop a funding mechanism for Governor Jodi Rell's (R-CT) $1.3 billion transportation initiative.
With the new E-ZPass technology, some form of tolls would appear to be in Connecticut's future. Oz Griebel, chairman of the Transportation Strategy Board, made a case for a study of re-establishing highway tolls in Connecticut.
The toll study is not yet part of the legislation, but Griebel is pushing it with lawmakers and he hopes to have answers in time for that target date in July 2007.
