Bridgeport councilmen want Ganim's name removed from city plaques
Bridgeport officials want all traces of former Mayor Joe Ganim and others in his administration removed from city buildings. Two City Council members have proposed that plaques be removed from public buildings honoring figures convicted or barred from doing city business as a result of Bridgeport's municipal corruption scandal. It's not clear how many plaques are on buildings, but councilmen are targeting the Arena at Harbor Yard. The city scandal has led to the conviction of the former Mayor, 10 other individuals and one firm.
