Two suspects in police custody for Milford area robberies

Milford police have arrested two suspects they believe may be responsible for robbing at least one business in the city. In the last two weeks, about seven businesses in Milford and other areas in southwestern Connecticut near Interstate 95 have been broken into.Eighteen-year-old Xavier Diaz of Bridgeport was charged with robbing the Shell Food Mart on Woodmont Road late last month. At this time he is only being charged with that one robbery, but police are looking to see if he had anything to do with the other crimes. Diaz is being held on $75,000 bond and was arraigned Friday.Jose Garcia (no further information available) is accused of being the gunman during the Shell Food Mart holdup. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.In addition, Stratford police have arrested Miguel Martinez, charging him with robbing the Dunkin' Donuts on Honeyspot Road. Police are trying to link him to robberies in the Milford area as well.Police say the investigation into the recent robberies is far from over.
