Fairfield police officer fired, officials remain silent

A Fairfield police officer has been fired, but the town police commission is not saying why.Wednesday night, News 12 Connecticut was at Fairfield Police headquarters when Sergeant James Ward, a 13-year veteran of the force, went before the commission, and was relieved of his duty. The commission then called a closed-door meeting. There was no explanation given for the decision. Ward had been originally suspended without pay in September. Ward plans to appeal the commission's decision to fire him.
