Weston students banned from logging onto Web site at school

Weston High School banned the Web site, www.ratemyteacher.com, from its computers. The site allows students to rate their teachers, then have those rating posted for all to see on the Internet. The schools assistant superintendent claims it violates the school's computer use practice and that students were accessing the site when they were supposed to be working. But Michael Hussey, the co-founder of the site, says he looks at the site as a resource for students, teachers, and administrators, who can embrace this technology to have an organized critique of the teachers. Hussey says he believes that schools should not be blocking students from using it on their own free time.
