Bethany student hospitalized because of school mold

Fourteen-year-old Cassandra Slauson was taken out of Amity Middle School Monday and rushed to New Haven Hospital suffering from an allergy to mold. Cassandra's mother Ona-May holds the Amity School District responsible for the condition of the school. She says officials should have taken steps to remove the mold years ago when it first became apparent.Officials plan to provide Cassandra with a teacher for home schooling until they can figure out a long-range solution. News 12 Connecticut tried to reach the school superintendent and was told she was unavailable.
