Falling trees are a concern for New Canaan

The more than 500,000 trees in New Canaan could pose problems for residents once Hurricane Isabel hits. Visit the News 12 Connecticut Hurricane Isabel Center for the latest on the storm.The combination of large trees and Hurricane Isabel's effects could become dangerous because of downed power lines. Connecticut Light and Power urged residents to stay away from any down power lines and allow professionals to deal with them.Connecticut Light and Power was reporting power outages in several cities such as Greenwich, Stamford, and Westport from a downed power line.Residents were reminded that fallen trees blocking roads could pose additional hazards. New Canaan was also told to beware Friday morning of soggy grounds which could lead to some trees uprooting and suddenly falling on individuals.
