American Medical Response celebrates ten-year anniversary in Bridgeport

(09/08/03) BRIDGEPORT - Since American Medical Response (AMR) took over the ambulance service in Bridgeport ten years ago, there have been many changes. Bridgeport Ambulance went from a small local operation to part of a national network. But for the paramedics, the job has stayed the same.

Ambulances are posted throughout the city allowing for the fastest response time to any scene, even if the call is unfounded. News 12 Connecticut followed AMR on a busy summer night, riding with supervisor Anthony Mauro. Play the video to watch the non-stop action.

A number of the paramedics have been with AMR all ten years. They say for the most part, it is like a family.
