New career center in Bridgeport looks to make dent on CT unemployment

The hunt for a job may have gotten just a little bit easier. Wednesday, Workplace Inc. opened the Academy for Career Advancement in Bridgeport to help move low-wage workers into higher paying jobs.Approximately 143,000 workers in southwestern Connecticut earn considerably less than the federal poverty level. And finding a job in today's market isn't proving to be easy.The free educational training program offers everything from computer training to basic work skills.
