Trumbull teen speaks out after fighting with a bear

Chris Magee, 17, wrestled with a bear on Friday night near his home. Magee admits he's lucky to be alive. He says on Friday night, he was looking for his family's two dogs in the woods of the Pequonnock River Valley when he came in contact with a black bear.

Magee didn't think he could out run the bear so he decided to fight it instead. He says the scuffle lasted a minute or two until he struck the bear in the face and managed to get away.

Magee amazingly only suffered some light scratches which have already healed.

Magee turned his clothes from Friday night over to the State's Department of Environmental Protection. The DEP says this is probably the same bear that has been spotted a few other times in the same general area.
