DEP orders environmental testing near Milford Power plant

The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has ordered four businesses in Milford to start environmental investigations on their sites. These businesses are located near contaminated wells and the Milford Power Company. The DEP wants the companies to hire an environmental consultant and clean up their sites if contamination is found. The state has also released test results of drinking wells near the power company and a fourth well has tested positive for contamination. The DEP will also expand its program and test wells within a one-mile radius of the power company.
