Picket signs and protest marches greet Yale University students

Four thousand maintenance, technical and clerical workers are on strike at Yale University Wednesday. The strike began at midnight after last-minute talks fell through between the school the workers.University officials say managers will do extra work and some temporary workers will likely be hired to keep the school running so there will not be any set back. However, some dormitory dining halls will be closed.Students say so far, the strike hasn't led to any inconveniences.The teachers' union is not affected by the strike, but some teachers are making arrangements to hold their classes away from classroom buildings.
