Early start to school day worries some Westport parents
Students at the Coleytown elementary and middle school in Westport got an early start to their first day Wednesday. Classes now begin a half hour earlier for both schools.School administrators say the changes eliminate the need for four buses by starting the middle and high schools at the same time, and will save the school district thousands of dollars. But many parents are concerned the changes could affect their children's performance in the classroom. And those who oppose the time change say they will continue their fight to have schools start after 8 a.m.
