CT blood shortage may force some hospitals to reschedule procedures

Red Cross officials say Connecticut's blood supply has dropped even further. And as a result, as of Monday some hospitals will be forced to reschedule medical procedures. So Norwalk firefighter Broderick Sawyer, a man who is well aware of the dire need for blood when it comes to accidents and trauma patients, donated on Friday while News 12 Connecticut's Gillian Neff took his place in the firehouse. Each and every donor is so appreciated, not just by the Red Cross but also by the patients who receive that blood.
