Driver charged in deadly Fairfield hit-and-run

One man is dead and one woman is under arrest following a hit-and-run accident in Fairfield. James Eberhardt, 85, of Fairfield was killed Tuesday morning while taking a walk. The accident happened along Stratfield Road, just south of the intersection at Lilalyn Drive. Police charged 41-year-old Eliza Lamb of Fairfield in connection with the hit-and-run. She faces a felony charge for evading responsibility. Lamb was placed under arrest while she was being treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center because she was involved in another accident shortly after the one in Fairfield, and it was at the second location where police caught up with her.Police would not comment on the ongoing investigation, but News 12 Connecticut was at the scene when empty bottles of liquor were discovered inside the car.Lamb remains at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Her bond was set at $100,000 and police say more charges are likely.
