Body found on Shea Island

A body was discovered on Shea Island, which is located about a mile from the Manresa Power Plant.

The body was found in a small grove of trees by News 12 Connecticut News Director, Tom Appleby, as he was kayaking around noon on Saturday.

It's unknown if the body was male or female, but it was fully clothed, lying face down. There were crutches next to the body and a nearly full bottle of liquor.

Police say the body had been there for several days, and was very near a campground.
