New Canaan power loss unrelated to blackout

Most of the power has been restored to southwestern Connecticut, but in New Canaan more than 30 percent of the town was without power Friday. Northeast Utilities (NU) says the problem is unrelated to Thursday night's blackout.According to NU the problem stems from a 345-kilovolt line that failed around 6 a.m. Friday. The company claims a guide broke and fell down on to the actual electrical lines.New Canaan Town Hall was running on it's own generator Friday and inside, the Red Cross was giving away food and water to those who needed it.
