Summer 2003: A washout

(08/12/03) FAIRFIELD - Whether it's running a summer business or just trying to find things to do, the weather has definitely made things difficult. Many people say the dreary weather has also put a damper on their mood.

Owners of Captain's Cove in Bridgeport say business is down at least 30 percent and area beaches like Fairfield's Penfield Beach haven't been overflowing with sun worshipers.

However, southwestern Connecticut residents say they're making plans no matter what the weather is going to be and hoping for better weather for the rest of the summer.
