Easton woman hurt in Jakarta bombing

(08/06/03) EASTON - Friends of an Easton woman are wishing for her safe return home after she was injured in a bombing in Indonesia on Tuesday.

Patricia Pond, 54, was in the Jakarta Marriott Hotel when a car laced with explosives blew up. Pond suffered from burns and is in stable condition. She was one of 28 General Electric employees in Indonesia on a training session.

In a statement to News 12 Connecticut, a GE spokesperson said, "With our friends and colleagues affected by this terrible act of violence, GE's sympathies and prayers go out to all the victims and loved ones."
