Blonde bandit pleads guilty in CT & NY

(07/31/03) NEW HAVEN - The woman known as the 'Blonde Bandit' pleaded guilty Thursday in New Haven federal court to robbing banks in Connecticut and Westchester.

Pamela Kaichen, a Chappaqua, NY resident, pleaded guilty to robbing six banks over a two-day period in May while wearing a blonde wig. During her spree, Kaichen took $42,000 from banks in Newtown, Danbury and Brookfield, Connecticut; and from Yorktown and Scarsdale banks in Westchester.

Kaichen now faces up to 87 months in federal prison. She will be sentenced on October 16.
