Homeowner accused of Stamford fires

(07/30/03) STAMFORD - A Stamford attorney has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to one of her own homes. Police charged 59-year-old Constance Krehbiel with second-degree arson for allegedly starting a fire at her Woodmere Road home on the morning of July 19.

In the past two weeks, a total of three fires occurred at the vacant house. The investigations into the two other fires continue.

Each time firefighters have been able to put the flames out quickly. And since the house has been vacant for several weeks, no one was injured in the fire.

Krehbiel lives next door to the house where the fires broke out. Her bond was set at $250,000 and she is due in court on August 13.
