Norwalk drainage plan approved

(07/23/03) NORWALK - Recent rains have taken a toll on one Norwalk neighborhood and some residents say flooding is ruining their properties and their quality of life.

On Tuesday, the Norwalk Conservation Committee approved a plan to improve drainage. The plan calls for a bigger, longer pipe to lower water levels in the area, but protect the wetlands at the same time.

Residents say they are pleased something will soon be done to correct the problem that they must deal with even on dry days.

The project should be completed by next fall.
