8-year-old Stamford murder goes to court

(07/22/03) STAMFORD - One of America's most wanted is due in a Connecticut courtroom Tuesday. Jamie Edwards, the man accused of killing an anti-drug advocate in Stamford eight years ago, has been found and faces murder charges.

Edwards allegedly killed Benjamin Perez in Stamford in February 1995 following a dispute and fled the country. Stamford police and other authorities finally caught up with him in his native Antigua two years ago. Authorities there took him into custody and only extradited him to Connecticut last month.

The case has been profiled several times on the TV show 'America's Most Wanted.'
